Beaverton/portland/aloha Oregon Snow Clearing At My Apartments, Not Management Responsibility?
im an apartment manager. Oregon just got the most snow we’ve seen since 1964. every parking lot and back street is almost impossible to get out. thus, all my residents are complaining that im not concerned of their safety to get in and out of the parking lot. i called my supervisor and she said its like this everywhere, and there’s nothing we can do about it. on christmas, i shoveled snow for over an hour so that people can get in and out of the entrance of the lot, but everyone is still complaining like its my fault!!! its frustrating because im getting stuck myself ! its my safety too, but no one recognizes that. i hate that we’re snowed in too, and i wish the residents would get off my back. Nature is doing its thing, and i have no control over that. and it says nO WHERE in the lease agreement that landlord is responsible for snow clearing. how do i nicely tell them to get off my back !

Tell the others to call the landlord themselves…….

The complex owners surely should still have something in place in the event of bad snows- either a contracted snow removal company or something.
Just explain to the tenants your position & let them call the property owners themselves to complain.
They blame you for the simple fact that they can- you are real, you are right there in front of them & you’re an outlet that they can direct their frustrations & anger to. The property owners are just a voice to them with no face or substance. They may not really personally blame you, but to them you are the apartment complex, not just the manager- so you get all their frustrations.
