Sunday Parkways returns to North Portland
PORTLAND – Sunday Parkways returned to North Portland over the weekend, connecting several parks on a traffic-free loop. Every fourth Sunday, through September, people can bike, walk, exercise and play on the streets, while cars are detoured for the day. North Portland Library scheduled to close April 11-15 for updates, book drop and holds unavailable
New checkout stations and security gates will be installed and other updates will be made to streamline holds pickups and improve access to media, catalog stations and tabletop connections for laptops. Patrons can visit branches in Kenton, Albina or St. Johns.

Portland Winterhawks Fall 9-3 in Spokane
The Portland Winterhawks (22-8-0-3) dropped a 9-3 decision in Spokane Wednesday against the Chiefs (15-9-2-2). Spokane scored five goals in the first period, getting tallies from Collin Valcourt, Mitch Holmberg, Tyler Johnson, Kenton Miller and a power play goal from Steven Kuhn.
